Default HoH jumping

Yesterday I met in Tombs very arrogant high ranked (9+) group. What did we get after our lose ? Only disrespect and verbal humiliation (we were not running any FOTM build).
But what annoyed me more was the fact that they used us for HoH jump (letting one survive, waiting till the announcement and then kill him).
Seriously, what point has HoH jumping and what is your opinion about it ? I have disrespect for people doing that.

If there was no chance of winning, i'd suggest the last person that is alive to zone out next time if they play a game like this.
This is the world upside down. First we had runners. Now this bs, which holds up on your playtime.

HoH jumping is exploiting a flawed system to save time and effort. It's not disrespectful, and you have the option to d/c to end the game.

Taunting the opponent before the fight is a good way to upset him and to distract him. Granted, it's cheap trick of the mind.

Insulting comments after a won/lost fight are stupid and bad. Personally I see ten "gg" (good game) for every bashing comment. If the game wasn't good, silence is your best option.

Does this jumping method actually work? A group I've been in have tried it and we just proceeded to the next round as normal.

This happens in a lot of competetive games, though I must admit IMHO the GW community has steadily got worse since release. I don't know if it's just a percentage of the community but I hardly ever saw anything like what goes on now in the WPE or the following betas but now I see it all the time in threads like this and in all of the pvp areas.

True but disconnecting means another meeting in district and making the group again = waste of our time only because of someone else.

Thats simply the law of averages kicking in, the more people that play GW means there's a higher chance to encounter jerks

I'm sure you can figure it out with your team.
you have all the time in the world in teamchat to talk.
so just agree that the player that is alive to zone out.
the team will loose, and zone out toghether.
then contact the player that left, and the team is complete again.
shouldn't be that much of a problem?

greetings,
Makk.

I certainly agree. Blame the flaw in the system, not the players who are using it to reach the Hall faster. Not exploiting every inch of unbalance would be unworthy of a competitive player. My point is that you should (re)start a suggestion thread in the Sardelac Sanitarium and try to make your point heard by ANet.

You are right and I agree, it is easier than I have posted.
But still, in a matter of principal - I don´t lose the battle but I am forced to give up (leave prematurely) if I don´t want the other team to abuse us. And I don´t think that PvP should be about preventive disconnecting but about fighting till the last breath Only then the winning team gets respect for winning and can be possibly remembered as a good one. On the other hand, the truth is that this is based only on personal feelings.

I think the point is... those guys are jerks/asses.

If I got the power to send them to serve jail time, I would do it.

I don't care about early trash talk, I don't care they jump to HoH... but making fun of the losing team are unjust.

its what alot of the hoh winning teams does, they designed a build Specifically desgined for altar holding, and skip to halls so they dont have to fight 1v1 match

Here is the point of view from someone 3 out of 4 times does not attempt to HoH jump. I put together competitive teams although usually not the most dominating teams during the night. Still my teams are capable to compete with and beat the dominating teams. It can get very frustrating later in the night if we have not made & won hoh (or at least had a respectable showing or here lately made it but lost because of 1 or more d/c'ing). This is frustration is multiplied when we beat teams during the night to later see them holding hoh. So partly out of frustration & partly out of wanting to save time sometimes my teams attempt to hoh jump. When I do I don't mean it to be mean to the team I'm doing it to since it doesn't really have much to do with them but with our team playing in halls. A good way to get a team doing it back is to sacrifice 3 minutes of your time (perhaps have your players get up & get a drink or something) while you are waiting & then quite the game.

Best idea for the harrasment is to make sure to turn off all chat when going in.

It's a hell of alot better than dealing some RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOwit.

I've never heard of this before. What is "the message" that you are referring to? I think it's pretty messed up. I know that sometimes in a heated Competition battle when they are jerks, I'll zone before they kill me so they don't get my faction.

the last player should just map out and meet the group back in whatever district they land.

Jumping to HoH has been around for a long time, it is lame and boring to do so pretty much every group I have ever been in simply can't be bothered to do it as as getting HoH is fun, but standing around waiting for 10mins to jump is not.

Personally, I would rather play than stand and watch.

I agree jumping has been around since the beginning. just leave and regroup in a dist. it takes about 5 seconds longer than if you died
